Title:
NONWOVEN CLOTH POLISHING MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06155310
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To restrain generation of static electricity at the time of polishing work containing a specified proportion of a metal plated synthetic fiber having specified resistivity value in a polishing base material concerning a nonwoven cloth polishing material with abrasive grains adhered on a fibrous base material.

CONSTITUTION: By containing at least 3 weight % of a metal plated synthetic fiber having resistivity value of 1.0×10-3-1.0×10-2Ω.cm on a polishing base material of a nonwoven cloth polishing material, generation of static electricity due to its use is restrained. Concretely, by sprinkling SBR as a primary binder on both surfaces of a random wear having 85g/m2 of a nylon fiber 1 and 5g/m2 of a silver plated nylon fiber 2 covered with 20% weight % of silver and heating and drying it, a fibrous base material is acquired. Thereafter, by impregnating this fibrous base material in a secondary binder containing silicon carbide polishing abrasive grains 4 in thermosetting resin 3, and drying and binding it, a desired nonwoven cloth abrasive 5 is manufactured.
