This nonwoven fabric which is used for cleaning and has a geometric average breaking length of ≥2 km in each of the longitudinal and latitudinal directions is produced by mixing pulp, polylactic acid thermally fusible fibers, and polylactic acid fibers having a fiber length of 7 to 20 mm and an aspect ratio of ≤1,200, forming a web from the mixture, subjecting a water flow interlacement treatment to the web from both the sides, and then subjecting the interlaced web to a thermally fusing treatment.
