Title:
NONWOVEN FABRIC HAVING BELTLIKE SPLIT-FIBER AREA AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3666828
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a nonwoven fabric suitable as a wiping cloth.
SOLUTION: This nonwoven fabric 6 is formed of conjugate type continuous filaments. The continuous filaments are obtained by compounding a low-melting thermoplastic polymer component A with a high-melting thermoplastic polymer component B and the component A is exposed to at least the surface thereof. Beltlike split-fiber areas 13 and beltlike unsplit-fiber areas 14 are arranged in the nonwoven fabric 6 while being alternately adjacent and fused area 11 and unfused areas 12 in a dotted form are present therein. Fibers A comprising only the component A produced by the dividing and splitting the filaments, fibers B comprising only the component B and unsplit-fiber continuous filaments in which the fibers are neither divided nor split are mixed in the unfused areas 12 in the split-fiber areas 13 without substantially causing three-dimensional interlacing thereof. The continuous filaments are mainly present in the unfused areas 12 in the unsplit-fiber areas 14. The fused areas 11 are formed by mutually fusing the continuous filaments according to the softening or melting of only the component A in the continuous filaments.
