PURPOSE: To obtain the subject nonwoven fabric having excellent heat-resistance and dimensional stability by using a conjugate continuous filament having a specific single fiber fineness and composed of a polyethylene terephthalate core component and a polypropylene sheath component at a weight ratio falling within a specific range and partially bonding by thermocompression bonding.
CONSTITUTION: A core-sheath conjugate continuous filament having a single fiber fineness of 2.5-20de is formed by combining (A) a core component having a single fiber fineness of 1.5-15de and composed of polyethylene terephthalate and (B) a sheath component composed of polypropylene at a weight ratio (B/A) of (0.2-3)/1. A fiber web made of the conjugate continuous filaments is partially bonded by thermocompression bonding to obtain the objective nonwoven fabric.
