Title:
NONWOVEN FABRIC REINFORCED WITH CONJUGATE MONOFILAMENT BUNDLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05140854
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title nonwoven fabric having high mechanical strength for tension in all directions by spirally arranging specific conjugate monofilaments on thermofusible conjugate fiber-contg. nonwoven fabric followed by thermofusing.

CONSTITUTION: (I) Conjugate filaments ≥100 denier in fineness with a single fiber tenacity of ≥2g/de and thermal shrinkage rate of ≤15% at 150°C, either of sheath-core type made up of (A) a higher-melting component as core and (B) a lower-melting component as sheath, or of side-by-side type made up of the components A and B at the conjugate ratio of (30:70) to (60:40) are spirally arranged in blocks of random size at a density of ≥200m/m2 on (II) a nonwoven fabric (or web) containing ≥30wt.% of thermofusible conjugate fibers, followed by bonding of the filaments to the nonwoven fabric through thermofusing, thus obtaining the objective nonwoven fabric reinforced with conjugate monofilament bundles.
