Abstract:
To provide a semipermeable membrane support in which further strike-through of a coating liquid compared with a conventional one does not occur when forming a semipermeable membrane onto a support, which has a thickness of minimum requirement and has no defect.SOLUTION: This method for manufacture of a non-woven fabric for a semipermeable membrane support has a process in which a fiber slurry, in which a synthetic fiber is dispersed in water, is obtained, and a process in which wet papermaking of the fiber slurry is performed thereby obtaining a non-woven fabric. The synthetic fiber comprises a main body fiber having a thickness of 0.3 to 5.0 decitex and a length of 1 to 8 mm, and a binder fiber having a thickness of 0.3 to 5.0 decitex and a length of 1 to 8 mm, a dry mass ratio of the main body fiber to the binder fiber in the fiber slurry is 90:10 to 50:50, a fiber content concentration of the fiber slurry at the time of papermaking is 0.01 to 0.1% by mass, and contains a 0.1 to 3 parts of water-soluble polymer mucilaginous agent, which has a molecular weight of 5,000,000 or more, to 100 parts of fiber content in the slurry, and the non-woven fabric is obtained in such a manner that two or more layers are laminated in a wet papermaking process.SELECTED DRAWING: None
