Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a nonwoven material which contains a specific synthetic fiber, is made by a dry process, retains the minimum thickness when a specific static pressure is imposed and is useful for under layers of fabric covering seats for vehicles and excellent in a discharging effect on sweat.
CONSTITUTION: This nonwoven material is produced by a dry process to needle- bond a material comprising ≥50% synthetic fiber (for example; polyester fiber) of 3-40 dtex (preferably 6-20 dtex) thickness and 2-12 cm (preferably 5-7.5 cm) length, natural fiber, artificial fiber, or the like, so that the nonwoven material has 20-100 kg/m2 (preferably 30-60 kg/m2) apparent density and 4-40 mm thickness and retains 2 mm (preferably 4 mm) minimum thickness when the static pressure of 20 cN/cm3 is imposed thereto.
