PURPOSE: To obtain a nootropic agent containing a histidylprolinamide derivative as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: A histidylprolinamide derivative shown by the formula (R is lower alkyl) is used as an active ingredient and pharmaceutically manufactured by a conventional procedure directly or by using an ordinary drug carrier to give the aimed substance. The aimed substance can be prepared into a dosage form such as dust, powder, tablet, sugar-coated tablet, capsule, granule, suspension, solution, syrup, drop or troche. Injection contains preferably 0.01W1% of the compound shown by the formula and tablet contains 0.001W1% of the compound. A daily dose per adult is 0.01W50mg, preferably 0.1W10mg calculated as the active ingredient and administered dividedly several times.
