Abstract:
To provide a norbornene copolymer excellent in transparency, heat resistance, low water-absorbing property, and electric insulation characteristic.
This norbornene copolymer is a high molecular weight addition copolymer of a norbornene compound containing a monomer unit represented by general formula (1) etc. (wherein R1 represents 1-10C alkyl group; and R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a 1-10C alkyl group), having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of 300,000-2,000,000 and a polar group, and a method of manufacturing the same is also disclosed.
