Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the subject novel derivatives, that is, specific 17- iminomethylalkenyl- and 17-iminoalkyl-14β-hydroxy-5β-androstane derivatives useful for the treatment or the like of cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure, hypertension and the like.
CONSTITUTION: There are provided novel 17-iminomethylalkenyl- and 17- iminoalkyl-14β-hydroxy-5β-androstane derivatives represented by formula I [wherein '∼' means α- or β-configuration, or Z or E configuration; A is (CH2)m (wherein (m) is 1-6) or (CH=CH)n (wherein (n) is 1-3); R1 is H, (substituted) 2-4C alkyl or the like; R2 is H or OH; R3 is the formula NHC(=X)NR6R7 (wherein R6 and R7 are each H, methyl, 2-4C alkyl or the like); and X is O, S or the like] and useful for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure, hypertension and the like. This compound is obtained by a condensation reaction of an aldehyde form represented by formula II with a compound of formula III and the formula, H2NOR8 (wherein R8 is the same kind as R6).
