Aminobenzoic acid derivs. of formula (I) and their acid-addn. salts are new, where R1 is H, F, Cl or Br; R2 and R3 are each opt. branched 1-6C alkyl (opt. substd. with Ph or di(1-3C)alkylamino), pyridyl or 5-7C cycloalkyl; or R2 and R3, together with the N atom form pyrrolidino, piperidino, hexamethylenimino, morpholino, N-arylpiperazino, or N-(1-3C)alkylpiperazino; or one of R2 and R3 may be H. A is 5-7C cycloalkylene or straight-chain 2-10C alkylene, opt. substd. with 1 or 2 1-3C alkyl or 2-4C carbalkoxy, 1-4 OH and/or one gp. of formula T (where Z is -CH2-O-); and is opt. interrupted by O, S, SO, SO2, NH or piperazino, the NH gp. opt. substd. with 1-6C alkyl, Ph or phenyl(1-3C)alkyl; X is O or NH; Y is OH, amino, Cl, Br, I or a gp. of formula T; (where Z is O or NH, or, together with the alpha and beta-C atoms of A, providing this contains at least 3C forms oxiranyl or 1,3-dioxolanyl or formula (II)); R4 and R5 are each H 1-3C alkyl or Ph. (I) can esp. be used to treat ulcers and inhibit stomach juice secretion. (I) are also intermediates in the prepn. of antiinflammatories (see DE2926472).
