Abstract:
To provide a novel compound having glucagon receptor antagonist or inverse agonist activity.
A novel compound is represented by formula (I). A pharmaceutical composition including the compound can be used for treating, preventing, delaying the time to onset, or reducing risk for the development or progression of a disease or condition (including Type I and II diabetes, insulin resistance and hyperglycemia) indicated by one or more glucagon receptor antagonists. In the formula: L is an optionally substituted phenyl, benzofuran-2-yl or the like; R44 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or the like; R45 is an alkyl group or the like; and R46 is hydrogen, chlorine, fluorine or the like.
