Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:An anthracyclinone compound shown by the formula I (R1 is H, OH, or lower alkoxy; R2 is ethyl, or acetyl).
EXAMPLE: (8S, Trans)-8-ethyl-10-[2'(S)-hydroxy-1'(S)-methylpropyl-oxy]-7,8,9,10- tetrahydro-1,8,11-trihydroxy-5,12-naphthacenedione.
USE: An intermediate for synthesizing an anthracyclinone substance, a carcinostatic antibiotic.
PROCESS: A compound shown by the formula II(TMS is trimethylsilyl) is subjected to ring closure reaction and decarboxylated to give the desired compound shown by the formula I . By this process, asymmetric synthesis of anthracyclinones can be carried out in high optical yield.
