Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Antibiotics AL-719 of formula I and AL-719Y of formula II.
USE: They inhibit the growth of microorganisms including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and show an antiviral activity against vescular stomatitis virus.
PREPARATION: A microorganism that belongs to Streptomyces and can produce antibiotics AL-719 and AL-719Y, e.g., Streptomyces sp AL-719 (FERM-4993), is inoculated in an enriched culture medium and cultured aerobically and the antibiotics AL-719 and/or AL-719Y are collected from the culture mixture.
