Abstract:
Diagnosis comprises detecting an AC-associated antigen using as reagent (a) anti-K antibody (Ab1) prepd. by immunising an animal with K antigenic determinants free of Pk or Pn determinants or (b) anti-Pk antibody (Ab2). Ab1 detects only the K determinants specific for AC while Ab2 detects p3Pk determinants associated with K or AC. The process can be applied to a sample taken from a human patient or used in vivo the cells of the tumour itself. Ab1, Ab2 and also anti-Pn antibody (Ab3), esp. where these are monoclonal, and including the conjugates of Ab1 and Ab2 with anti-tumour or cytotoxic agents. The K, Pk and Pn antigenic determinants are also new (Pn are present in normal plasma and serum and give a cross-reaction with Pk).
