Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:The aromatic amine of formula I and formula II.

USE: Production raw material for pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, liquid crystal materials and various other functional materials.

PREPARATION: The compound of formula I having a melting point of 93.5-94.5°C and the compound of formula II exhibiting liquid state at normal temperature and having a boiling point of 165-170°C/2mmHg can be produced without using a high-pressure reaction by reacting a phenolic compound with trifluoromethane- sulfonic acid anhydride in the presence of triethylamine, and reacting the resultant aromatic triflate of formula III (Ar is aryl; Tf is CF3SO2) with a primary amine (e.g. aniline) or a secondary amine (e.g. morpholine, piperidine or diisopropylamine) in acetonitrile under normal pressure.
