Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R is H or -SO3H; n is 0 or 1), its salt or its ester.
EXAMPLE: ( 5R,6R )-3-[ (E)-2-Acetamido-1-fluoroethenyl-(R)-sulfinyl ]-6-( 1-hydroxy- 1-methylethyl)-7-oxo-1-azabicyclo[3,2,0]hept-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid.
USE: An antibacterial agent and a β-lactamase inhibiting agent.
PREPARATION: The KA-6643 substance of formula II (a metabolic product of Streptomyces sp. KC-6643 strain) is made to react with xenon difluoride in an inert solvent, preferably dichloromethane, etc., at -10W0°C.
