NEW MATERIAL:A trans-butenophenone derivative of formula I: (Ar is lower alkyl, lower alkylthio group, phenyl, naphthyl, furyl or thienyl group which may be substituted by chlorine, bromine, or CF3; n is 4 or 5) and its acid addition salt.
EXAMPLE: N-(4-Phenyl-4-oxo-2-transbutenyl) piperidine hydrochloride.
USE: Drugs having an anti-agglutination action on the blood platelet.
PROCESS: An aldehyde of formula V is reacted with a metallic compound of a propargyl amine derivative of formula VI: (M and M' are magnesium halides or alkali metals) to form a compound of formula III, which is reduced into a compound of formula II, the compound of formula II is oxidized with MnO2, etc. to give the objective compound of formula I. Alternatively, the compound of formula III is obtained from the compound of formula V through a propargyl alcohol derivative of formula IV.
