Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formulaI(R is or sulfonic group; X is Cl), its salt or ester.
EXAMPLE: Disodium salt of (5R, 6R)-3-(2-acetamido-1-chloroethenylsulfinyl)-6- (2-hydroxysulfonyloxy-2-propyl)-7-oxo-1-azabicyclo-[3,2,0]hept-2-ene-2 carboxylic acid.
USE: An antibacterial agent. Having inhibiting action on β-lactamase, and improved stability in a living body.
PROCESS: A compound shown by the formula II or its salt or its ester is reacted with chlorine and a base (e.g., triethylamine) to give a compound shown by the formulaI. The reaction is preferably carried out in an inert organic solvent (e.g., CH2Cl2) at a low temperature of -100W0°C.
