Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject novel antibiotic which exhibits powerful anti- microbial activity against pathogenic bacteria including various gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and is useful for the prophylaxis and treatment of diseases caused by bacterial infection by reacting specified compounds in the presence of a solvent.
CONSTITUTION: This antibiotic is obtained by reacting a compound of formula 1 (wherein R1 and R4 are each H or the like; R2 and R3 are each H or acetyl; R5 is H, methyl, carboxyl or sulfomethyl; R6 is H or amino; R7 is methyl or amino; R5 and R6 together with the carbon atoms to which they are bonded form a ring of cyclopentane or cyclohexane; and R6 and R7 are each bonded to a hetero ring of imidazole or triazole) with a compound of formula II (wherein R8 is H or the like; Q is CH or N; m is 0 or 1; and L is a leaving group) and a compound of formula III, and optionally removing the amino protective group or the acid protective group or reducing the S-oxide [S->(O)m].
