PURPOSE: To provide a composition for drink having excellent palatability and nutritive value, and composed of an aqueous medium containing the component of sunflower seed in the form of a seed milk.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is prepared e.g. by finely pulverizing hulled sunflower seed or a mixture of the seed and oil seed other than sunflower seed in the presence of water, and is composed of the component constituting the sunflower seed, water, and in some cases, the component constituting the oil seed other than sunflower seed. The composition contains the proteins and lipids contained in sunflower seed, and the seed-constituting components are present in the aqueous medium in the form of emulsion, suspension, solution, etc. The composition is essentially free of the solid component originated from the shell of the sunflower seed, and the pH of the composition is adjusted at ≤8.0.
