Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel compound that has excellent antitumor action, excellent bone strengthening action or excellent weight gain inhibitory action, and is available also as a sweetener, and a method of producing the novel compound.SOLUTION: From a culture of microorganisms belonging to the genus Lentzea such as Lentzea sp. ML457-mF8 strain (NITEP-01586), a trehalose derivative of a novel structural formula is separated. It is also possible for the production of the compound by a genetic engineering method.
