PURPOSE: A diisopropyl fumarate/vinyl acetate copolymer, having a high glass transition point (≥about 163°C and excellent heat stability, containing a vinyl acetate component at a specified fraction.
CONSTITUTION: A diisopropyl fumarate/vinyl acetate copolymer containing the vinyl acetate content of 3W50wt% and having a MW of about 10,000W500,000. The above copolymer is produced by radical-copolymerizing diisopropyl fumarate with vinyl acetate according to a usual method (it is extremely easy to obtain a copolymer of a desired composition ratio because the copolymer has a composition ratio very close to the feed ratio of the monomers). The glass transition point of the copolymer having a vinyl acetate fraction of 8W30wt% is extremely high and can reach 200°C or above.
