NEW MATERIAL: A compd. represented by the formula (wherein R1 and R2 are each H or an 8 or less C hydrocarbon group, R2 is a 9 or less C acryl; X1 and X2 are each F, Cl, Br, I, CF3 or CN, etc.; R3 is H, an 8 or less C saturated linear alkyl or an alcohol residue used in the synthesis of pyressnoid) being a form of all of possible isomers and a mixture of them.
EXAMPLE: Cyano(3-phenoxyphenyl)methyl [1R[1α(S), 3α(R)]]-3-[1-acetyloxy-2,2- dibromo-2-(methoxysulfinyl)ethyl]-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate.
USE: An expellent of harmful insects, nematodes and mites being parasites of a plant and animal.
PROCESS: Sodium dithionite is allowed to act on a compd. represented by formula II (X3 is Cl, Br or I) in an aq. medium and, if necessary, an etherifying agent capable of introducing R1 other than H is allowed to act on the product to obtain the compd. represented by formula I.
