To provide a novel bifunctional fluorine-containing spiro cyclic acetal compound which can be produced from an inexpensive material without using complicated operations, and is polymerized to give a polymer showing excellent characteristics (chemical resistance, weather resistance, water and oil repellency, low intermolecular interactive property, low refraction property, high optical transparency and the like); and to provide a production process of the bifunctional fluorine-containing spiro cyclic acetal compound.
The fluorine-containing spiro cyclic acetal compound is represented by general formula (A), wherein X represents >C(CF3)(Y) or >C=CF2 in which Y represents -CF2OCOR1, -COOR2, -COF or -CH2OR3 in which R1 represents an alkyl group or a cycloalkyl group having at least one fluorine atom; R2 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, an alkyl group or a cycloalkyl group; R3 represents a hydrogen atom or an acyl group. The alkyl group or the cycloalkyl group of R1 may have a substituent other than fluorine atoms, the alkyl group or the cycloalkyl group of R2 may have a substituent, and the acyl group of R3 may have a substituent, and a production process therefor is also provided.
