To provide a simple novel method of producing a cyclohexylphenol compound used as a raw material of various organic compounds.
A cyclohexyl compound [1] and a Grignard reagent [2] are made to react under the presence of an iron compound and an amine compound, subsequently, and are processed by an acid to produce a cyclohexylphenol compound [3]. In the formulas, X1 denotes a halogen atom, an aryl sulfonyloxy group in which an aryl group may be replaced with fluorine, or an alkyl sulfonyloxy group in which an alkyl group may be replaced with the fluorine; L1 denotes an organic group which contains zero to three 1,4-phenylene or 1,4-cyclohexylene groups; R2 denotes a protecting group removable by an acid; and X2 denotes a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom, a bromine atom or an iodine atom.
