Abstract:
To provide microorganisms capable of rapidly decomposing azo dyes, and a method for decomposing the azo dyes by using the microorganisms.
The novel microorganisms belong to the genus Rhodopseudomonas and/or the species Rhodobacter sphaeroides having ability to decompose azo dyes and this method for decomposing azo dyes uses the aforesaid microorganisms.
