NEW MATERIAL:A cis-diaminocyclohexanolplatinum complex or cis- diaminocyclohexaneplatinum complex expressed by formulas IWVI (X2 is formulas VII, VIII, etc. ; R1WR are H or OH, provided that at least one of R1WR8 is OH and two OH groups with respect to one carbon atom constituting the cyclohexane ring are not substituted; R9 is H, phenyl, etc.; R10 is H, lower alkyl, etc., except 2-deoxy-D-streptamine-coordinated platinum complex when X2 is a dicarboxylic acid derivative residue).
EXAMPLE: Cis-sulfato-1,3-diaminocyclohexaneplatinum(II).
USE: A water-soluble antitumor agent with low toxicity without exhibiting cross tolerance to cisplatin.
PREPARATION: For example, cis-dichloro-diamino-cyclohexanolplatinum(II) is mixed with silver sulfate and the deposited silver chloride precipitates are then removed to deposit a sulfate from the filtrate.
