Abstract:
PURPOSE: To purpose a polymer which is crosslinked and hydrophilic, composed of a base material of acrylic acid, insoluble in water, partially connected with silica and an alkali metal salt, in a state of micro-pearls, and suitable for sanitary items.
CONSTITUTION: An intended polymer which is in a state of micro-pearls, a very absorbent crosslinked polymer, insoluble in water, and composed of a base material of silica and a partial alkali metal salt of acrylic acid. The polymer preferably contains (A) 98-75% of acrylic acid of 60-80 wt.% of alkali metal salt and 2-25 % of silica.
