Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a provide a polymethine dye which is expressed by formula a specific constitutional formula, has an acidic electron receptive terminal nucleus and is useful for an image forming compsn.
CONSTITUTION: This polymethine dye is expressed by formula I. In the formula I, D is a cyano group, sulfo group or carbonyl group, E denotes an atom for perfecting an arom. heterocyclic nucleus contg. a 5- or 6-membered heterocycle contg. at least one heteroatom selected from a group consisting of nitrogen and chalcogen, L1 and L2 are each methine group and (n) is an integer of 0, 1 or 2.
