Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic polymer thickener, a stabilizer and/or an emulsifier for enhancing viscosity of creams, emulsions and various solutions for topical application in cosmetic industry and pharmaceutical industry.SOLUTION: There is provided a crosslinked anionic polymer electrolyte containing a monomer unit derived from partially- or totally- chlorinated 2-methyl-2-[(1-oxo-2-propenyl)amino]-1-propane sulfonic acid of 20 to 80 mol.%, a monomer unit derived from N,N-dimethylacrylamide of 15 to 75 mol.% and a monomer unit derived from at least one kind of monomer selected from tetra ethoxylated lauryl methacrylate or eicosa ethoxylated stearyl methacrylate of 0.5 to 5 mol.%. There are also provided a thickener, a stabilizer and/or an emulsifier which are obtained by using the polymer electrolyte.
