NEW MATERIAL:A pyrimidine derivative shown by the formula I (R is lower alkyl; R' is H, or lower alkyl; X is F, or di-lower alkylamino).
EXAMPLE: 2-Methylthio-fluoro-5-trifluoromethyl-6-methoxypyrimidine.
USE: Useful as drugs such as antitumor agent, caused by specific physiological activity of fluorine-contained organic compound, agricultural chemicals such as herbicide, etc.
PREPARATION: 1-Lower alkoxyperfluoroisobutene or octafluoroisobutyl lower alkyl ether is reacted with thiourea in a solution of thiourea in diglyme, dimethylformamide, etc. at ≤15°C. The prepared compound shown by the formula IIis subjected to ring closure in a solvent such as dimethylformamide, etc. in the presence of a catalyst such as triethylamine, etc. under heating at about 0W150°, preferably at 15W100°C, to give a compound shown by the formula III.
