Abstract:

To provide a mutant of rhodopsin and a protein moiety thereof, nucleic acids encoding them, a cell containing any of them, and a method for culturing the cell.SOLUTION: The present invention provides various rhodopsin mutants which have new amino acid sequences and can exhibit high proton translocation activity. There is also provided a method for culturing cells expressing rhodopsin mutants, where the culturing of the cells is performed under light irradiation conditions.SELECTED DRAWING: None
