Title:
NOVEL RUBBER-BASED, PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE TAPE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04227781
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a high-quality novel pressure-sensitive adhesive tape in a cost-effective manner by coextruding a polyolefin and an inexpensive material into a double-layer backing and coating the external surface of the backing with an adhesive.

CONSTITUTION: Copolymer masses 10, 12 emerge as two separate layers through a nip between rolls B, C with a polyolefin layer 10, such as first-grade PE, adhered to the center roll B. The resultant laminate of the layers 10, 12 then advances through a nip of a roll A kept at the m.p. of the layers or above. At that time, a mass of a melted pressure-sensitive adhesive 14 is put on a matte external surface of the layer 12. The tape thus obtd. is then passed through the nip, enters a cooling bath, and is wound around a roll.
