PURPOSE: To eliminate several characteristics as surface active agent from a material after it is once used as surface active agent by prepg. the surface active agent as a mixture contg. an ethylene oxide adduct of a quaternary ammonium salt expressed by a specified general formula.
CONSTITUTION: A surface active agent is prepd. by incorporating a compd. expressed by formula I (wherein R1 is H, CH3; R2C=O- is 6W22C satd. or unsatd. fatty acid residue; each R3 and R4 is 1W4C alkyl or alkenyl; R5 is 1W4C alkyl, alkenyl, benzyl; A is 2W4C alkylene or substituted alkylene; n is an integer 0W50; X- is a univalent anion). After using the surface active agent as an effective component for a product such as paint, printing ink, etc., or during storage of the product, the characteristics of the surface active agent to function as surface active agent are eliminated quickly.
