Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R1,2 are halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower acyl, or nitro; a is 0 or 1; be is 0 or 1; c and d are 0 or 1W5, provided that c+d≤5).
EXAMPLE: N-(1-Tricyclo[4,3,1,12,5]undecyl)-4-methylbenzamide.
USE: Remedy for viral deseases of man and animals, effective to DNA viruses (herpes virus) as well as to RNA viruses, and inactive to the central nervous system.
PROCESS: Reaction of an amine II with an acid halide III (X is halogen) in an inert organic solvent in the presence of a basic catalyst, affords the compound I.
