Title:
NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGE MAGNET SYSTEM HAVING A SHLELD AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0196906
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To ensure a substantially uniform magnetic field at a predetermined position in a bore by positioning a single coil in a low temperature keeping container, constructing the coil by winding a superconducting fine wire several thousand times or more, and correcting an influence of the existence of a shield. CONSTITUTION: A magnet system 20 includes a substantially cylindrical vacuum container 22 that forms a bore 24 for receiving an imaging object (patient). A substantially cylindrical low temperature keeping container 32 is supported in a vacuum container by a suspension system. Further, a single coil 34 is disposed in the low temperature keeping container 32, and a local substantial uniform magnetic field is obtained in at least part of the bore 24. Many windings of the coil are made parallel, and the same current flows through all windings. By winding the single coil 34 in such a manner provision of a shield assembly 36 is compensated, and after the shield assembly is installed on the vacuum container, the coil is disposed at a predetermined position in the bore 24 whereby a local substantially uniform high intensity magnetic field suitable for a medical resonance imaging method is yielded.
