Abstract:
To accurately measure a fissile material included in wastes and stored materials from a nuclear power plant, as well as damage/molten fuel-containing materials therefrom.SOLUTION: A nuclear material measurement system comprises: an electron beam accelerator; a target that receives a pulse high-energy electron beam, and generates pulse bremsstrahlung radiation and a pulse high-speed neutron; a transmission bremsstrahlung radiation detector; and a neutron detector, and is configured to irradiate a measurement object with the pulse bremsstrahlung radiation and pulse high-speed neutron to be discharged from the target by irradiation of the same pulse high-energy electron. The transmission bremsstrahlung radiation detector is configured to measure bremsstrahlung radiation having transmitted the measurement object out of the pulse bremsstrahlung radiation, and the neutron detector is configured to measure a high-speed neutron to be discharged from the measurement object by the irradiation of the pulse high-speed neutron.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
