Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the manufacturing efficiency and the operation efficiency by setting the distance between the upper end of a vertical pipe which is a vent passage and the normal water level of pool water in a supression chamber in a specified range.
CONSTITUTION: A vertical pipe 17 for forming a vent passage 15 for connecting a lower dry well 11 and a supression chamber 12 to each other in pool water 13 is built in the lower part of a pedestal 4. The distance 1 between the upper end of the vertical pipe 17 and the normal water level 13a of pool water 13 stored in the supression chamber 12 is set in a range from 1m to 3m. It is confirmed by various analyses that the rising of the water level of pool water 13 caused by earthquake or the like is about 1m. Accordingly, the upper end of the vertical pipe 17 is made higher than the normal water level 13a by 1m to 3m to cope with the rising of the water level of pool water 13 and reduce the length of the vertical pipe 17. As the vertical pipe 17 is short, an assembling work can be facilitated, and the height of the pedestal 4 and a nuclear reactor container can be reduced, so that the center of gravity is lowered so as to improve the stability.
