Abstract:
To provide a nucleic acid comprising immunostimulation higher than that of a conventional nucleic acid.
An immunostimulatory nucleic acid comprising CpG motifs, and a method of use thereof in immunostimulation is provided. The present invention is partly based on the surprising discovery of a new family of a nucleic acid inducing higher level immunostimulation than that of a conventional nucleic acid. The knowledge is surprising as one of reasons that more than 100 numbers of nucleic acid sequences had been screened before the nucleic acid sequence described in the specification was found. Immunostimulation effect of bacteria DNA can be simulated with a synthetic oligodeoxynucleotide (ODN) containing the CpG motifs.
