Abstract:
To provide a method for detecting an analyte in a sample.SOLUTION: Provided is a detection method, comprising: a) immobilizing a single analyte derived from a sample on separate regions of a solid support and providing a detectably labeled query probe that binds to and dissociates from the single analyte; b) counting multiple time-separated signal intensity changes detected within the separate regions and identifying the signal intensity change as a candidate signal generated by repeated binding and dissociation of the detectably labeled query probe and the immobilized single analyte when the number of signal intensity changes detected within the separate regions is greater than a threshold; and c) detecting the analyte in the sample when the candidate signal is detected or when a value of a parameter characterizing the time-separated signal intensity changes indicates the presence of the analyte within the separate region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1a
