Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a number-of-steps detection device capable of measuring the number-of-steps of a user with high precision regardless of habit of walking of each individual and changes in a walking pace, a walking state, and so on.SOLUTION: A number-of-steps detection device includes: a one-step determination unit that acquires an acceleration value by a signal from an acceleration sensor to make one step when the acceleration value smaller than a second threshold value is acquired after acquiring the acceleration value larger than a first threshold value is acquired; a walking continuation determination unit that cancels determination of start of walking when a time interval from one step number-of-steps detection to next one step number-of-steps detection exceeds a second reference time while an elapsed time from a first one step number-of-steps detection exceeds a first reference time; a number-of-steps count unit that performs number-of-steps count processing in response to detection of one step walking and measures the number of steps detected during a period exceeding the first reference time as a tentative count to add the number-of-steps of the tentative count to an output count after the first reference time is elapsed; and a threshold correction unit for correcting the first threshold value and the second threshold value, based on an acceleration value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
