Abstract:
To provide a numerical controller and a control method which cal effectively damp vibration in spite of variation in frequency of machine vibration.SOLUTION: A numerical controller performs processing on a speed command for a servo motor which drives a machine tool, with a convex type acceleration/deceleration filter to control acceleration/deceleration of the servo motor. The convex type acceleration/deceleration filter is a two-stage convex type filter through which the magnitude of acceleration or speed with respect to a time base is convexly increased in the middle of a time base. The convex type acceleration/deceleration filter can damp vibration within a range of a fixed width in the periphery of a natural frequency of the machine tool. The numerical controller executes filter setting processing and accepts input of a parameter for optimizing the convex type acceleration/deceleration filter, from a worker. Therefore, the numerical controller allows an optimal convex type acceleration/deceleration filter to be designed in accordance with variation in manufacturing process or a change in loading mass of the machine tool.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
