Abstract:
To provide a numerical control device and a control method which can suppress positional deviation of a rotation position of a spindle during tool replacing operation, and can suppress oscillation of a servo motor.SOLUTION: A machine tool includes a spindle, a spindle head, a servo motor, a clamp mechanism part, a tool replacing device, and a CPU. The spindle detachably supports a tool. The spindle head rotatably supports the spindle. The servo motor is arranged on the spindle head, and drives the spindle. The clamp mechanism part clamps and unclamps the tool mounted on the spindle. The tool replacing device can execute tool replacing operation of the spindle. The CPU controls on/off of the servo motor. The CPU switches the servo motor from an on-state to an off-state from when a pair of holding parts hold a current tool and a following tool until when the clamp mechanism part completes switching from clamping to unclamping (S15).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
