PURPOSE:To automatically execute a numerical calculation which is made able to be calculated based on an abstracted rule by abstructing the rule of operation intended by an operator based on the concrete numerical calculation and character string arithmetic operation executed by the operator. CONSTITUTION:Names X, Y, Z, and W, and (a), (b), and (c) are inputted in a table, and the line (a) of columns X, Y, and Z, for instance 100, 300, and 200 are inputted, and these inputs are stored in a table storage device 104. If, at this time, an expression '100+300-200' is inputted, a calculator 107 analyzes it, and transmits the result to a retrieving device 108, and the calculation result which is 200 is transmitted to a numerical expression management calculator 102. Thus resulted value is transmitted to a displayer 106 and also stored in the Wa of the table 104. The retrieving device 108 retrieves a designated location of the storing and its column and line, and converts them to an abstract equation 'Xa+Ya-Za=Wa', and transmits this to an abstruction device 109. The device 109, since (a) is included in all the designated locations, judges that the abstruction is able, and makes out an abstruction equation X*+Y*-Z*=W*.
