A nurse call master unit is equipped with a performance test control unit provided with at least one of an automatic test switch, a channel selection test switch, and a semiautomatic test switch (manual increment test switch). A channel selection/talking test and a call recovery test can be carried out by operating one of the test switches to enable a slave unit to operate without operating the slave unit directly.
