To prevent a call from a bed-leaving sensor from being announced by mistake as much as possible without giving trouble to a medical staffer.

The nurse call system includes the bed-leaving sensor 5 for detecting that a patient leaves a bed, and an inclination sensor 4 for detecting the rising of a backrest portion 2. An operating part 3 for raising the backrest portion 2 is disposed out of the range of detection of the bed-leaving sensor 5 and at a position where the patient can not operate the operating part without being detected by the bed-leaving sensor 5. If rising of the backrest portion 2 is detected, an announcing part 13 is not operated even if the bed-leaving sensor 5 detects that the patient leaves the bed. With this structure, when the backrest portion 2 is raised, it is determined that the raising of the backrest portion 2 is detected by the bed-leaving sensor 5 by a medical staffer operating the operating part 3 to raise the backrest portion 2 for the nursing care, etc. even if the ambulation sensor 5 detects the leaving, and therefore, announcement is not made.
