A nurse call slave unit 1 is installed in the vicinity of a bed, slave unit identification information is stored in association with empty bed information indicating whether the bed is empty. When a bed in the vicinity of a nurse call slave unit 1 in which a call operation section 3 is operated is empty, the end of bed making is reported but if the bed is not empty, it is reported that a medical worker is called by a patient. In accordance with whether the bed is empty, operation in the case where the call operation section 3 is operated is made different. Therefore, the call operation section 3 can be effectively utilized and by operating the call operation section 3 of the nurse call slave unit 1 in the vicinity of the bed which is determined as an empty bed, the end of bed making for the bed that the patient who had leaved the hospital used can be reported.
