Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable authentication by using a part of an authentication code, the part consisting of the least possible digits among all the digits of the authentication code.SOLUTION: A corridor lamp 3 is provided with: a code storage unit 22 for storing a fist code consisting of a part of the digits of an authentication code (e.g., the uppermost digit) and a second code consisting of digits of a combination different from the part of the digits (e.g., the last three digits); a first authentication processing unit 24 for authenticating a medical worker by using a code of the uppermost digit of the authentication code read from an IC card 10 and the first code; and a second authentication processing unit 25 for authenticating a patient by using a code of the last three digits of the authentication code read from the IC card 10 and the second code. The code of the uppermost digit of the authentication code is used to determine whether the authentication code is for a medical worker or for a patient, and is also used for authentication of the medical worker, thereby eliminating the need for a part of the digits of the authentication code being a code different for each patient.
