The nurse calling unit is mounted to each patient and stored with the identification information of the patient. When an IC tag for transmitting a signal including identification information enters a receiving area upon receipt of a starting radio wave, this system has an identification information receiver 201 for receiving the signal transmitted from the IC tag, a starting radio wave transmitter 200 for transmitting the starting radio wave toward the IC tag, a calling signal generator 202 for generating a calling signal including identification information contained in the signal received by the receiver 201 and an address number previously given to itself, and a calling signal transmitter 203 for transmitting the calling signal generated by the generator 202 to a master unit to indicate the identification information contained in the calling signal and the address number at the master unit.
